Aruba 2026
This was my first solo international trip. I successfully navigated airports, delayed flights, and missed connections all by myself. The first leg of my journey was for being alone to rest, and the second was for novelty. My sister Megan stopped by on her way to Mexico so we got to enjoy a few days in Aruba together.
My favorite parts of the trip were seeing Flamingoes on Renaissance Island. Eating a Sfogliatella from ‘Perfetto’ with my coffee almost every morning. And my favorite part of the whole trip was deep sea fishing. My sister and I caught a Mahi Mahi, a Barracuda, and two Oahu’s. We got to taste test them right away at the charter’s connected restaurant ‘Driftwood’. We were treated like famous people. Everyone walked by to tell us “nice catch!” we basically fed the whole restaurant.
The photo of my sister holding her barracuda looking terrified, while I look overjoyed, will forever make me laugh.
